Metal frames, made to your size.

Our metal picture frames are cut from real brushed aluminium — a modern, lightweight moulding finished in matt black, brushed gold or brushed copper. Each frame is mitred and assembled to order in our UK workshop, ready to hang behind cast-acrylic glazing.

Aluminium vs wood — when to choose metal.

Aluminium picture frames sit flatter on the wall and weigh roughly half as much as a comparable wood moulding, which makes them a popular choice for larger prints and gallery walls. The thin 7.8mm × 25.9mm profile keeps the focus on the artwork — ideal for minimalist posters, photography and modern prints.

Three finishes, one profile.

All three Alpha-range mouldings share the same slim profile, so you can mix matt black, brushed gold and brushed copper across a gallery wall without the frames clashing in scale. Choose a single finish or combine them.

FAQ

Common questions,
honest answers.

Are these real aluminium frames?

Yes — every metal frame is cut from genuine brushed aluminium moulding, not painted or coated wood. The brushed/matt finishes are part of the metal itself.

What sizes do your metal frames come in?

Made to measure. Pick from 19 standard sizes (A4, A3, A2, A1, 30×40cm, 40×50cm, 50×50cm and more) — every frame is cut and assembled to order.

How thick is the aluminium moulding?

The profile is 7.8mm wide on the face and 25.9mm deep — a slim, modern aluminium frame that keeps the focus on the artwork.

Can I order an empty metal frame?

Yes — pick the frame only option on any metal frame product page and we'll send the aluminium frame on its own.

Are the frames heavier than wood?

No — aluminium frames are roughly half the weight of a comparable wood moulding, which is part of why they're popular for larger prints and gallery walls.
